The photographer

Benjamin
Clerveaux-Jean

Bold in vision. Refined in execution. Timeless by design. For eight years, I've turned moments into imagery worth revisiting, sharing, and remembering.

How it started

My interest in photography first took shape in high school, but it wasn't until college at USF that I started taking it more seriously. The university provided free cameras, so I began shooting photos of my friends during the summer. Eventually, someone saw my work and asked, “How much do you charge?” From there, it was history.

How I learned

I’m self-taught, a proud graduate of the University of YouTube. From there, Strawbridge Studios flew me out for intensive photography training, and established Florida photographers took me under their wing. Eight years and more than 800 shoots later, that experience continues to shape the way I approach every session, especially when it comes to lighting, composition, and capturing people at their best.

How a shoot goes

I like to let people settle in and do what comes naturally before offering posing suggestions. Funny enough, the same people who tell me, “I don't really know how to pose,” are often posing like they're in front of their own mirror by the end of the shoot. For me, it’s about helping you feel comfortable with me and confident in your own skin. Before long, we’re usually playing your music and enjoying the experience, which makes it easier for your personality to come through in the photos. I believe everyone has it in them to be themselves in front of the camera. My job is to help bring that out by making adjustments to your poses and suggesting creative ones of my own. The goal is for you to see yourself in the photos and feel good about what you see.

Where the name comes from

Studio

I thought long and hard about what I'd name my business. At the end of the day, I knew I just wanted to help people. I just wanted to leave an impact. Leave an imprint. To build a legacy that lives on long after I’m gone, and to help others create theirs. From there, the name wrote itself.
